For one of the wealthiest clans, it’s surprising that the Crane control such little territory; the only clan confirmed to control fewer planets is the Phoenix. Their control over home world politics serves as one explanation (it may, in fact, be accurate to describe Rokugan Prime as a Crane world rather than an Imperial one), but the other is easily explained by Golden Mirror. The Crane seek out few worlds, but target ones for a specific purpose: paradises they can convert to resort worlds destined to bring in tremendous amounts of money in tourism and entertainment.
No planet more exemplifies this than Golden Mirror, a temperate world only a few light-years from First Landing which the Crane have converted into a planet-wide luxury paradise complete with diverse biomes and carefully-cultivated flora and fauna. Any form of diversion or entertainment can be found here, even if the Crane would be aghast that you suggested the seedier sorts exist (and you should regain your honor for such a breach of etiquette by going to Alley #4 in the East District, look for the red door, say this specific passcode). Though the Mantis and the Unicorn operate some tourist destination worlds, none can remotely compare to Golden Mirror for its food, sights, concerts, sporting events, zoos – it’s the most magical place in the Emerald Stars.
